JENNA: BOSS LADY/ CHIEF TASTING OFFICER

Having worked in the industry since 2014. I have always known pastry and all things sweet was my jam, literally.

Having pursued this passion ever since, I have worked a variety of Pastry Chef jobs and kitchens until the opportunity presented itself to start my own business.

Inspired by the colourful, fun, diverse and
detail oriented nature of chocolate and confectionery I wanted to share that
joy and love with others. Hence Short and Sweet was born.

As much as I thought I knew chocolate, this venture is teaching me something new every day and I absolutely love it.

ANELE: CONFECTIONER

I have 6 years industry experience. At first it was just a job I was doing to put food on the table, and it developed into something I excelled at. It later turned into a passion more than ‘just a job’.

I am very proud of what I do and I don’t see myself doing any other job besides this. I really enjoy learning new recipes, making the chocolates and seeing the final product.

My ultimate goal is to attend seminars and go to school to earn a certificate to be able to pursue it further, with my own business one day.

I want to create employment for others, like my boss has done for me – she is my inspiration.

SIGGY: PRO CHOCOLATIER

In the past 9 years of being in the industry, I have gained a lot of knowledge and experience.

I find the job exciting because I learn something new every day.

My inspiration to become a chocolatier comes from my mother, who used to talk about the joys of making and eating different
types of chocolate dishes with her boss.

Though we couldn’t afford the equipment to do it ourselves at the time, I made a promise to pursue it professionally one day, which I am now doing.

NAOMI: ALL ROUNDER

With 7-8 years of experience as a waiter in various hospitality settings, including restaurants, hotels, and catering companies, I have gained valuable insight into the industry.

Although I am new(ish) to the world of chocolate, I am eager to expand my knowledge, explore new ideas, and develop
both personally and professionally.

Working with chocolate has been a thrilling and captivating experience that has left me feeling deeply fulfilled.

My ultimate goal is to become a skilled chocolatier, and I am willing to put in the hard work and dedication necessary
to achieve this dream.

MICHELLE: CONFECTIONER

With 8 years of experience working in the
industry; I have always had a love for chocolate and it’s rich flavours.

The art of chocolate making has always fascinated me and I love the joy it brings out in people. So when the opportunity presented itself to work in the chocolate industry; I grabbed it! I enjoy working in a talented team of women chefs to bring our shared vision to life.

I enjoy the creativity and freedom to experiment with flavours, textures and designs that bring a smile to our customers faces.

My job goal is to obtain a chocolatier and confectionery certification and create a chocolate legacy.

JENNA-LEE: DECORATOR & CHOCOLATIER

I have 2 years industry experience and a few months working in the chocolate industry.

I’ve had a love and passion for all things sweet since I was a little girl. It’s always been my dream to work in an environment where I would be making pastry and chocolates every day.

I love that I am able to do such a variety of tasks in my day; from decorating beautiful bonbons to developing and making confectionery products.

I would love to continue and grow in my knowledge and in my skillset as a chocolatier.
